EXPERIMENTAL TESTS WITH GPR – FACULTY OF TEACHER EDUCATION IN PETRINJA

Exactly one month after a devastating earthquake hit Petrinja, on 29 January 2021, experimental ground-penetrating radar (GPR) tests were conducted at Faculty of Teacher Education, Department in Petrinja. The tests were carried out with the aim of determining the positions of the reinforcement on the columns and to determine the geometry of the slab. The GPR is a StructureScan Mini XT from the company GSSI with a centre frequency of 2.7 GHz.

The location of the reinforcement in the columns was determined on site, while the analysis of the radargrams with the aim of determining the geometry of the slab was carried out afterwards using the Radan software package.  GPR has proven to be a very effective tool in the investigation of the Faculty of Teacher Education.
